How To Clean A Lake Trout And Make A Super Tasty Beer Batter

It took me quite a while but I finally got the fishfnatic up to the cottage on the weekend of February 23rd for some lake trout fishing and some good times with family and friends. Although the fishing turned out to be somewhat less than great, we did manage to ice a few and had a decent little fish fry back at the cottage on the Saturday night.

We decided to take the opportunity to create a couple of videos to show our visitors how to clean a lake trout and how to make a super easy and tasty beer batter. If you’ve never tried this beer batter before, give it a try. You won’t be sorry you did.

This first video focuses on cleaning and filleting a lake trout and I must admit that the fishfnatic has a way of making it look rather easy. Not very much meat wasted at all and not a bone in sight. Just what I’m looking for when I bite into a piece of fish.

In this next video, the fishfnatic shows us how to quickly make a tasty beer batter using Aunt Jemima pancake mix and laker beer. This is so simple to do and it tastes amazing. Like I said earlier, if you’ve never tried it before, you’ve got to give it a shot.
